Over 10,000 LTTE men in custody

The government claimed that over 10,000 LTTE suspects are currently being held under the state of Emergency which was extended by another month yesterday at parliament.

 

 

Opposition members claimed in parliament yesterday that the government was only using the state of emergency to obstruct their political work. 

 

However, SLFP General Secretary Maithripala Sirisena told the media today that without these regulations the government would have no choice but to release all the LTTE suspects currently in custody.
